How Hydroxyapatite Reduces Sensitivity and Rebuilds Tooth Enamel

Introduction

Oral care is evolving, and with it comes revolutionary products like ENML Toothpaste Tablets that promise to transform how we protect our teeth. In this post, we explore the groundbreaking ingredient behind these tablets—microhydroxyapatite—and its role in reducing sensitivity while strengthening enamel. Dr. Jordan Harper, a respected figure in dental health, shares his experience with the product and how it’s changing the game for people suffering from sensitive teeth. If you’ve ever wondered how to naturally remineralize teeth and avoid traditional fluoride-based toothpaste, you’re in the right place.

How does microhydroxyapatite work to reduce sensitivity and remineralize tooth enamel?

Dr. Jordan Harper explains how this NASA-developed ingredient helps fill micro-cracks in the teeth caused by bacterial byproducts, thus alleviating sensitivity and strengthening enamel. It offers a natural alternative to fluoride, giving those with sensitive teeth a powerful, fluoride-free option.

Key Questions and Answers

  1. What is microhydroxyapatite and why is it better than fluoride?Microhydroxyapatite is a natural mineral that makes up 97% of your tooth enamel. Unlike fluoride, it doesn’t require additional chemical reactions to strengthen teeth. This makes it a safer, more efficient alternative.

  2. How does microhydroxyapatite reduce tooth sensitivity?
Microhydroxyapatite fills in microscopic fissures in the tooth enamel, which block fluid movement that triggers sensitivity. By occluding these dentinal tubules, it significantly reduces the sensation of tooth sensitivity.

  3. Can microhydroxyapatite help prevent cavities?
Yes. Microhydroxyapatite is reabsorbed into the tooth's structure, filling in micro-cracks and fissures before they develop into full-blown cavities. This helps to remineralize teeth and prevent decay at an early stage.

  4. How does microhydroxyapatite compare to fluoride in protecting teeth?
Microhydroxyapatite has been proven to be just as effective, if not more so, in protecting teeth from decay and sensitivity. It also avoids the potential health risks associated with fluoride ingestion.

  5. What feedback have patients given about ENML Toothpaste Tablets?
Patients with sensitive teeth reported significant improvements after using ENML Toothpaste Tablets. Dr. Harper mentions that many patients were amazed at how quickly their sensitivity diminished after using the product.

  6. How does microhydroxyapatite work to rebuild enamel?
By mimicking the mineral composition of natural enamel, microhydroxyapatite fills in the cracks and crevices formed by acid-producing bacteria, thereby reinforcing the tooth’s protective outer layer.

  7. How does microhydroxyapatite benefit those with sensitive teeth?
The primary cause of sensitivity is exposed dentin, which houses millions of tiny fluid-filled tubes. By sealing these tubes, microhydroxyapatite reduces the movement of fluid and lessens sensitivity.

  8. Is microhydroxyapatite safe for children?
Absolutely! Unlike fluoride, which poses risks when ingested, microhydroxyapatite is a naturally occurring mineral. Even if swallowed, it won’t have adverse effects, making it safe for both adults and children.

  9. Why was microhydroxyapatite originally developed by NASA?
NASA created microhydroxyapatite to help astronauts combat bone and tooth loss in space. While it was cost-prohibitive to produce initially, modern advancements have made it accessible for daily oral care.

  10. Why should I switch to ENML Toothpaste Tablets?
ENML Toothpaste Tablets offer a fluoride-free, eco-friendly solution that’s easier to use and travel with. The tablet form also delivers a consistent dosage of microhydroxyapatite, ensuring your teeth are always protected.

  11. How does ENML align with sustainability efforts?
ENML Toothpaste Tablets come in eco-friendly packaging, including reusable glass jars and recyclable pouches for refills. This reduces plastic waste and contributes to a more sustainable oral care routine.

  12. How do ENML Toothpaste Tablets improve the brushing experience?
With no mess, no waste, and a compact, travel-friendly format, ENML Toothpaste Tablets are perfect for modern lifestyles. The controlled dose in each tablet ensures a cleaner, more efficient brushing experience.

  13. What are the long-term effects of using microhydroxyapatite toothpaste?
Long-term use of microhydroxyapatite toothpaste can strengthen enamel, reduce sensitivity, and prevent cavities—all without the risks associated with fluoride.

  14. What are the risks associated with fluoride use?
Fluoride, when ingested in large amounts, can lead to toxicity, especially in children. Studies have raised concerns about fluoride’s long-term health effects, making microhydroxyapatite a safer alternative.

  15. How does ENML stand out in the oral care market?
ENML Toothpaste Tablets combine the best of oral health science with eco-friendly practices, offering a superior alternative to traditional toothpastes that rely on harmful chemicals like fluoride.

"I've had tons of patients that have had our samples as we were, as we were testing and trying out this product that have sensitive teeth and like, 'Oh my God, my teeth are not sensitive.' So that's a really cool part. As far as the mineralization component goes, your tooth, the bacterial byproducts, which is acid that creates cavities, as that works in your mouth, it creates little micro fissures and pits and cracks and crevices and that type of thing in the teeth.

And the cavities got to get to a certain extent before we as dentists need to go in and treat it with a filling or a crown or whatnot, depending on how bad the decay is. And if we catch that process early enough, the microhydroxyapatite will actually be reuptaken into those areas and help remineralize the tooth and strengthen it against cavities.

I think I was one of your many patients that were beating down the doors trying to get this product. Because I've got super sensitive teeth, and I'm not kidding, I came in, I think it was like two weeks ago after I've used the entire product, twice. I'm like, 'Hey, I need more.' And it, you know, it's not available yet for purchase, which I've been really thankful that I've got to try it out. So it's been awesome. It's been great."
